I would join in on all the celebrational boozing, but I decided I would like to weave tonight, and weaving + booze has never given me a pleasant time.
So an old friend posted old videos of me in old life doing old activities online, and it’s wigged me out a little. Not in a bad way, per say, just a “woah” kind of way.
Life is so different now.

Good thing: I am invited to a gathering of friendly grad students today. I ought to leave in maybe 40 minutes.
Bad things: I had an awful nightmare that has made my mood all sick and twitchy. I have a zit. My lips are chappy. I feel uncomfortable. My nail polish is all messed up, and- prepare yourself for the whiniest whine- it is chilly out. I want to just hide in my studio and work, but...
Tonight’s FOOD EXPERIMENT:
Saute garlic and red peppers in olive oil. Puree! Add roasted tomatoes. Puree! Season! Serve over pasta.
This seems like a safe bet.
I like catching up on the art blogs of old art school friends. They nudge me towards motivation every time.
And remind me of how out of date my own is, as well. Whoops. Blame grad school.

The little bag of gelt I got for the holidays is proving to be most international. I have had chocolate coins from the US, Israel, Canada, and now, ooh, a chocolate British pound!
Mango ice cream has not been the best experiment. Tasty, but sub par. This is because mangos have that thready texture.
No one likes hairy ice cream, is what I’m sayin’. Even if it is tasty.
Fighting off sudden major bummers.
The hardest part about making ice cream is waiting while the mixed ingredients chill enough to put them in the ice cream maker.

Because I always wanted my son’s middle name to be Atticus. Not his first name, though, because I wouldn’t want him to get beat up on the playground.
Those kids would obviously have no idea what a cool name Atticus is. I love that name.
Remember The California Diaries? I always liked the name Amalia because of them.

Hahahaaaaa. Yeahhh, that didn’t last long. I tried putting them at the top of the tree, but that didn’t stop him. Now they’re on top of a tall bookshelf, with a discouragement-pillow on that open spot.

Today:
Slept in. Ate breakfast while playing online. Took two hour nap with cat. Inhaled remains of giant sugary Crumbs cupcake.
Aaaaaand that’s my day so far. Productivity and, like, social family holiday stuff ftw? Uh, hmm.

Two things just happened:
1) I woke up from a nap. Hahhhhh, yeahhhhh, vacation.
2) I just ate 1/4 of a cinnamon bun cupcake from Crumbs. It was delicious, and, I believe, provided me with enough sugar (in just 1/4!) to run off of tonight.
