They found each other in New York. They were so close in that last shot (if I recall correctly), despite the odds of him finding one person in a huge foreign city. But I don’t think they could have made it as a couple long-term. In my imagination, they break up amicably and remain best friends (and then maybe get back together years down the line).

I dunno, I always felt like it was up in the air. Like, maybe he decided to walk in to that place, maybe he kept walking and they never saw each other again. I hope for the first, but admit the good chance of the second.
