Miss Shirley Sees Things

I always forget that I love this song.

Partially it’s because it carries this major sense of nostalgia with it. I may be dancing like - uh, ok, well, like that scene in Charlie’s Angels where whatsername wakes up in her boyshorts and booty dances her way to answer the door, whatever- but at least part of me is sitting in the “cafe” at my university in nyc, near the awful pizza counter that would send so many people to the ER, with my then-closest friends, chatting about whatever as the mtv-college station that played on every tv in every eatery there blasted this song for the 18billionth time that day/week/month/year. 

It’s a good recollection. Times were pretty good then. It was a hopeful time.
